Like the Sticky bombs for the shotgun, Precision Bolt is what makes this weapon worth using (i.e, taking out weakpoints). However, the Bottomless Micromissiles are absolutely worth getting, as they completely shred the Icon of Sin. Micro Missiles didn’t really feel as useful in this game as they were in Doom 2016, mostly due to the fact that the Plasma Rifle and Chaingun feel way more useful in Eternal than they were in the last game. Not very powerful, but does a good job staggering fodder enemies when you need glory kills. Primary fire is pretty much like the pistol from the last game.

Also the go-to weapon for Cacodemons at mid/close range (though that goes without saying). While I didn’t use it as much late-game, it’s still great for weak points when you can’t line up shots with the Precision Bolt (especially since I only play on console), and the five-point Mastery is still good at shaving health off Mancubi when you’re in a pinch, and can’t switch to anything else. Like the tutorial says, it’s perfect for taking out weakpoints, and is actually better at dealing with heavies – Arachnotrons, Hell Knights, Mancubi– early on in the game than the full auto, as well as clearing out small mobs of fodder. Sticky bombs are what make this weapon absolutely worthwhile, however. Eats up too much ammo, and locks you in place, which is basically a death sentence Rarely ever used Full-Auto after my first playthrough. Primary becomes useless once you get SSG. Don’t use the primary fire for this very much after Exultia, as it’s only useful for individual fodder enemies. This is just my own personal take on all the weapons and weapon mods featured in the game, based on my experiences from playing on Nightmare/Extra Lives mode a few times. This isn't meant to be an authoritatize or definitive guide on how to use the weapons/weapon mods for Doom Eternal, as I'm fairly certain most of you here found cleverer or more efficient uses for all of the following up to this point (and I'd be more than happy to hear your guys' thoughts/recommendations on how to better use the weapons in this game).
